The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate the establishment of a
community-run neighbourhood-based non-profit internet service. This
service is distributed through wireless nodes hosted by members of the
Chebucto Community Net Society, a non-profit registered charity dedicated
to providing equal access to the tools of communication and promoting
community development.
1. This agreement is between the Chebucto Community Net (Chebucto) and the
Node Host (host) of a wireless node belonging to the Chebucto Community
Net Wireless Service (Chebucto Wireless).
2. The host agrees to provide the physical space to house a wireless node
and any associated hardware. Associated hardware may include (but not be
limited to) cables, antennas and mounting hardware. The actual node
equipment required may vary from node to node. Chebucto will advise
potential hosts in advance what node equipment will be required for their
particular node location. The host is responsible for securing any
necessary permits or permissions for the installation and hosting of the
node and any associated hardware.
3. The host agrees to provide the wireless node with electrical power at
the host's expense and to keep the wireless node turned on at all times.
The host recognizes that their node provides internet access to their
neighbours as well as to themselves.
4. The host will not dis-assemble the wireless node or interfere with the
operation of the wireless node in any way. The host is not responsible for
the maintenance of the node or any associated equipment. The host will
advise Chebucto of any problems they may observe with the node or any
associated equipment in a timely manner.
5. The host will not move or relocate the wireless node without the
advance written approval of Chebucto.
6. The wireless node and any associated equipment are the property of
Chebucto and must be returned to Chebucto by the host upon request or in
the event of the host moving to a new location.
7. The host agrees to give Chebucto physical access to the wireless node
and associated equipment upon request. Chebucto reserves the right to
remove the node and associated equipment for any reason it considers to be
compelling. The host agrees to permit the removal of the node and any
associated equipment.
8. The host agrees to have and maintain in good standing a Chebucto Plus
level membership in the Chebucto Community Net Society. Chebucto agrees to
offer a Node Host Chebucto Plus membership category at a discounted price.

9. The host agrees to release Chebucto from any and all claims arising
from any malfunction or operational difficulties with Chebucto, the
wireless node or any associated hardware or software, for any direct,
indirect, incidental or consequential damages sustained in relation to the
installation, use, presence or operation of the wireless node or any
associated hardware or software.
10. The host agrees to regularly check their Chebucto mailbox. This
mailbox will be used for any official communication between Chebucto and
the host.
11. The host will pay a deposit for the node equipment. Upon the return of
the node equipment in good condition, Chebucto will refund the deposit
within thirty (30) days. Chebucto reserves the right to keep some or all
of the deposit in the event of damaged and/or missing node equipment.
